In a statement from The Academy, show producers Howell Taylor and Stephanie Allain noted, “We’re excited to welcome these talented artists to help celebrate this year’s movies. Each brings their own unique energy and appeal to our global audience.”
Previously announced Oscars presenters include last year’s actor winners Mahershala Ali, Olivia Colman, Regina King and Rami Malek. The producers promise more talent will be announced for the show in the next 10 days.
Almost every presenter has a reason to be there. Beetz appeared in Best Picture nominee “Joker” and her latest film, “Nine Days,” earned rave reviews at Sundance. Chalamet stars in Best Picture nominee “Little Women” and will appear in both “The French Dispatch” and “Dune” later this year. Ferrell and Louis-Dreyfuss’ “Downfall” opens in theaters the Friday after the telecast. Gadot and Wiig will be seen in “Wonder Woman 1984.” Miranda and Ramos have an “In the Heights” connection. Ruffalo stars in “This Much I Know Is True” on HBO, “Star Wars” star Tran will be heard in “The Croods 2” and Kaling is, well, just Kaling it appears.
The 92nd Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, Feb. 9 beginning at 5 PM PT, 8 PM ET and aired live on ABC.
