Will this be the awards season where women are ruling the roost when it comes to handing out trophies? With Ellen Degeneres already slated to hand out the Oscars, it looks like two more funny women are being eyed to work their magic once again.
Both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have been approached about reprising their hosting duties at the Golden Globes. There’s no doubt that they were a hit this past January, bringing fun, charm and lots of laughs to the ceremony that is already known for being much looser and livelier than the Oscars, but this is all is pretty early. Deadline notes that “there are no active conversations between the network and the funny ladies who have received an informal invitation versus a formal offer.” So basically it’s at the “Hey, do you want to do this again?” stage. And moreover, everyone is taking their time with formal negotiations not expected to begin until next month, with an announcement in November.
So, good idea or bad idea? Should the Globes stick with what worked last time around or try something new? Tell us below, but here’s reminder of the Fey/Poehler magic—their opening from the 2013 ceremony.
