Toby Jones Confirms He'll Return For 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'

nullWe're still over a year away from "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," but given that these Marvel movies require a bit more planning than your average tentpole to ensure continuity in their universe is maintained, phone calls tend to go out early. It looks like the phone has rung for Toby Jones, and he'll be back for the sequel.

Chatting with HeyUGuys at the London Critics Circle Awards over the weekend where he took home British Actor Of The Year award for "Berberian Sound Studio," Jones confirmed he'll return for more Marvel action. In 'The First Avenger,' Jones played Nazi Dr. Arnim Zola, who aims to use the Tesseract to power his inventions. He's later captured, gives up the location of HYDRA, and frankly we're surprised there's anything more to say. But there are a couple of ways we could see him factoring into the story. In the comics, Red Skull also backed Zola's experiments that resulted in the creation of villains like Primus and Doughboy — so, could we see a new baddie enter the fray somehow? Zola's consciousness was also rebooted in a robot body and he was recruited by the Shadow Council, but that seems less likely.

If anything, we'd reckon it'll be some flashback stuff but not much more. Directed by the Russo brothers, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" arrives on April 4, 2014.
