Tom Hardy Will Return For 'Peaky Blinders' Season 3

Peaky BlindersThe logic goes, if you put Tom Hardy in anything, I’ll probably watch it, but even with the actor lending his talents to the second season of "Peaky Blinders," I still haven’t had a chance to catch up with the show. But now I’m getting a second kick in the pants to do just that because Hardy is returning.

"Yes, Tom is coming back," the show’s writer and "Locke" director Steve Knight told Deadline. And he teases more famous folks might pop by. "We have new big roles that are written and have enormous interest from really good people. We’re hoping to land some good names. The response from everyone and people in the business has been unbelievably good, so we’re in a good place for approaching people who wouldn’t normally do this sort of thing.

The period gangster drama follows the crew led by Tommy Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy) who have big plans. And with folks like Hardy coming aboard, the show will only grow its audience, and Knight has grand plans about how far he’d like to take the story.

"It’s a longshot, but the ambition is, I would love to end the final episode of the final series with the first air-raid fire of the second World War," he said. "We’ve been going in two-year jumps so that would be like about 10 series. We may have to start making bigger jumps to get to that point. But I’ll let the story lead (and do) what feels natural."

"Peaky Blinders" season 3 will arrive in 2016.
