Walking out of the theater after “Toy Story 3” and ten years of waiting had us in an emotional mess. Now, with almost another ten years of waiting, Disney and Pixar Studios is going to take us right back to the toy chest with “Toy Story 4.” Start stocking up on the Kleenex, because the cast is already hinting that the ending will be more emotional than ever. Honestly, considering what “Toy Story 3” put us through, the warning must be taken seriously. There may be no survivors in the audience.

In fact, the ending of “Toy Story 3” is going to be a tough act to follow. With Andy moving out and saying goodbye to his childhood toys, Pixar took a shot at the generation that grew up with the original two 90s’ movies and left everyone teary-eyed. Many thought that would be a perfect, nostalgic end to the series, but it looks like the studio has more in store for us.
Who are we kidding? This is Pixar, they can successfully cater to all ages and have yet to make a bad movie. New director Josh Cooley has a good background with Pixar as it is, working as a storyboard artist on films like “The Incredibles,” “Cars,” “Ratatouille,” “Up,” and “Cars 2.” He later moved on to supervising and screenwriting the award-winning “Inside Out” and its short spinoff film “Riley’s First Date?” “Toy Story 4” will be Cooley’s directorial debut. Most of the original cast will be staying on, including Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, and Joan Cusack as Buzz, Woody, and Jessie. Even Bo Peep actress Annie Potts is returning after her absence in “Toy Story 3.” New additions to the line-up are also adding to the excitement, with comedian legends Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key starring as the two fuzzy new characters Ducky and Bunny. If anything, the movie is sure to be funny with them around.
Unfortunately, the original Mr. Potato Head Don Rickles was meant to reprise his role once again but was unable to record any lines before he passed away last year. A legend will be missed.
