Trailer For 'Perfect Sense': A Chef & An Epidemiologist Fall In Love Until They Can't Feel Love

Meet Susan. An epidemiologist who thinks all men are assholes. Now meet Michael, a sweetheart of a chef who sweeps Susan off her feet. Sounds like the beginnings of a romcom right? Not so.

That’s just part of the ambitious drama/disaster film “Perfect Sense,” a picture in which Eva Green and Ewan McGregor star in the aforementioned respective lead roles and then face a crisis as the entire world is losing its sensory perception. Since Susan is a scientist who studies these types of things, that kind makes it a bummer for Michael who wanted to make her some dessert — if you know what we mean. Anyway, the trailer for the David MacKenzie directed film has arrived and it looks ridiculously overwrought and cornball right from the very first words of the portentous voiceover. We’ve getting an eerie sense of deja vu, á la Thomas Vinterberg‘s similarly themed “It’s All About Love.”

The film co-stars Ewen Bremner (”Trainspotting”), Stephen Dillane (”John Adams”) and Connie Nielsen (”Gladiator”) and any hope we have left for the film is in Danish scribe Kim Fupz Aakeson who penned the enjoyable, farcical yet humane crime-caper “A Somewhat Gentle Man” which has earned some good reviews on the festival circuit. Check out the trailer after the jump; the film premieres at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival. [MTV/HeyUGuys]
