Even Oscar winners, Golden Globe achievers and films accepted to the Toronto International Film Festival sometimes have no luck.
Such is the case with Triage” director Danis Tanovic who earned an Foreign Film Oscar and raves for his darkly comic look at the Bosnia and Herzegovina war in 2001’s “No Man’s Land,” as the picture is evidently going straight to DVD on August 10th via National Entertainment Media.
Colin Farrell stars as Mark Walsh, a war journalist who captures shocking photos of atrocities in Kurdistan, but who seems most bothered by the disappearance of his friend (Jamie Sives). Paz Vega co-stars and we had hoped that she would return to some of her “Sex and Lucia” glory that was tarnished by “Spanglish,” “10 Items or Less” and “The Spirit.” The great Christopher Lee also had a role as well.
“Triage” seemed to get decent notices at TIFF, but apparently not ones good enough to see a proper debut Stateside.
Here’s an old trailer if you’ll be interested when this thing finally hits Netflix.
