'Trying' Season 2 Trailer: The Apple TV+ Comedy Series Documents the Road to Adoption

The road to parenthood isn’t always a straight line, and Apple TV+‘s “Trying” portrays one of the paths that many parents take — adoption. The show has released a new trailer chronicling all the challenges that lead characters, Nikki and Jason, face on their road to adoption.

The first season of the show begins with the pair coming to terms with the fact that conception would be unlikely for them, so they work to convince the adoption panel that they deserve a child. In “Trying” Season 2, they have to face brand new challenges — matching with a child and deciding whether or not they want a boy or girl.

The series follows Nikki and Jason, a couple who really want to become parents but struggle with conceiving a child. In order to have the baby they want they decide to adopt, only to face a whole list of new challenges that come with the adoption process. Starring Rafe Spall and Esther Smith, “Trying” is a comedy series about growing up, settling down and finding someone to love.

Trying was written, created, and executive produced by Andy Wolton (“The Coopers vs the Rest“). Jim O’Hanlon (“The Punisher“) serves as director and executive producer with co-producers Josh Cole (“Treehouse Masters“), Sam Pinnell (“Derry Girls“), and Tim Mannion (“Sex Education“). “Trying” stars Esther Smith (“Cuckoo“) and Rafe Spall (“The Big Short“). Ophelia Lovibond (“The Autopsy of Jane Doe“), Oliver Chris (“Four Weddings and a Funeral“), Darren Boyd (“Killing Eve“), and Sian Brooke (“Sherlock“) are set to reprise their roles from Season 1.
