TV On The Radio's Tunde Adebimpe In New Anne Hathaway Movie

Spencer posted about the new Jonathan Demme movie starring Anne Hathaway, “Rachel Getting Married” yesterday, but we didn’t get a chance to take a close look until today. Who’s that at the top of the trailer? Huh, it’s TV On The Radio’s lead singer Tunde Adebimpe.

Hathaway plays a ex-model out of rehab who comes home for her sister’s wedding. Turns out, the Rachel getting married in the film is Hathaway’s sister and her fiance Sidney, is played by none other than the TVOTR frontman. He’s even listed on the movie’s IMDB page.

Did we miss this announcement? Were we asleep? did Adebimpe get himself an agent and go all Hollywood? Well, the singer is a graduate of NYU’s film school, directed the animated video for the Yeah, Yeah, Yeah’s “Pin,” and also already starred in the 2001 indie movie, “Jump Tomorrow.” So there.

Fab 5 Freddy also has a cameo in the movie as himself. The song in the trailer is Rogue Wave’s cover of Buddy Holly’s classic “Everyday.”
