Twisted Teaser Trailer For Pedro Almodóvar's 'The Skin That I Live In'

This year’s Cannes sees the return of a major auteur in Pedro Almodóvar‘s with “The Skin That I Live In.” Details have been scarce, other than a creepy synopsis and an array of weird images, the film now has a teaser trailer to complement its upcoming unveiling as well — and does it do the job or what?

The film is based on crime novelist Thierry Jonque‘s 2005 book, “Tarantula,” the story of a plastic surgeon carrying out a vendetta on the man who raped his daughter. A very promising cast includes Antonio Banderas, Elena Anaya, Marisa Paredes, Jan Cornet, Roberto Alamo, Blanca Suárez, Eduard Fernández, José Luis Gómez, Bárbara Lennie, Susi Sánchez, Fernando Cayo and Teresa Manresa and reunites Almodóvar with longtime collaborators such as composer Alberto Iglesias, DoP Jose Luis Alcaine as well as editor José Salcedo with what promises to be a major Palme d’Or contender.

“The Skin That I Live In” premieres on the Croisette but is already scheduled to hit theaters this November for a potential award season run through Sony Pictures Classic. [Flix]
