HBO Max is doing whatever it takes to fill out its growing library of “Max Originals.” Even if that means taking pre-existing shows from the UK, rebranding them as originals, and releasing them on the streaming service, such as with the new-ish show, “Two Weeks to Live.”
As seen in the new trailer for “Two Weeks to Live,” the series follows the story of a young girl that has been sheltered by her doomsday-prepping mother after her father is murdered. After many attempts, the young girl finally escapes the clutches of her over-protective mom and ventures out into the real world, where she meets up with two strangers and carries out her plot to murder those people who she believes caused the death of her father.

However, “Two Weeks to Live” isn’t an HBO Max original program, in the strictest sense. You see, the series is already enjoying a run on UK TV and the worldwide distribution rights were purchased by HBO Max, as the fledgling streaming platform hopes to impress its subscribers with new series. And honestly, it’s a tactic that worked for Netflix years ago, and is probably going to work just fine for HBO Max.
“Two Weeks to Live” stars Maisie Williams, of “Game of Thrones” fame, alongside Sian Clifford, of “Fleabag” fame. The series also gives Williams another attempt at wielding sharp objects and kicking the shit out of grown men, which she did oh so well in ‘Thrones.’
“Two Weeks to Live” is already airing in the UK on Sky and will make its HBO Max debut on November 5. You can watch the trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
