Vincent D'Onofrio Is Wilson Fisk A.K.A. Kingpin In Marvel's 'Daredevil'

Vincent D'onofrio, Daredevil, Kingpin

Vincent D’Onofrio has a very… distinct on-screen persona. Basically, he excels at playing eccentric, emotionally detached characters, who are perhaps more internally complex than outwardly flashy. So while he wouldn’t initially seem like a no-brainer choice to play a Marvel baddie, there is something inspired about the choice.

And indeed, Marvel has announced today that D’Onofrio will play Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, in their “Daredevil” series for Netflix. As you’ll remember, Michael Clarke Duncan brought his stature to the part in the 2003 film, and clearly, the choice of D’Onofrio indicates a different approach to the character. Either way, he’ll be a key part of the show.

“We’re incredibly proud to have an actor with the gravitas and versatility of Vincent joining ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’ in such an integral role,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “Wilson Fisk is an iconic villain whose cunning and power make him the dangerous equal of our hero.”

D’Onofrio joins Charlie Cox, who has the title role, with the series set to debut next year on the streaming service.
