'Wall-E' Soundtrack Features The Best Peter Gabriel Song In... Forever?

Since “Wall-E” fever is sweeping the nation and now that we’ve all agreed and accepted that the Pixar animation is a fine, endearing little film that won’t be an Oscar Best Picture contender next year, we can settle down, enjoy ourselves and reminisce about its winning charms. One element that obviously makes the film so lovable and winsome is its surprisingly engaging score by Thomas Newman and it’s very respectable soundtrack which includes great tunes by Louis Armstrong, Michael Crawford (his love leitmotif in the film, “It Only Takes A Moment,” from the film “Hello Dolly!“) and a disarmingly good track by Peter Gabriel of all people (PG hasn’t done anything respectable in a while and if you remember his Magnetic Fields cover in “Shall We dance” you’ll want to wretch.

Since there’s so much “Wall-E” mania out there and since we genuinely enjoyed the music in the film, we thought we’d collate all the songs in one place, especially for the younger newbs that might not fully be aware of where Crawford’s songs come from (that’s not pedantic, you’re allowed; we honestly haven’t seen it, we’re generally not too keen on musicals). Plus, the occasion of a way above average Peter Gabriel song is a cause for celebration.
