The latest (but not first, justice for “Agents of SHIELD“) Marvel TV show connected to the MCU, “WandaVision,” is doing something unique to the franchise and bringing a J.J. Abrams-style Mystery Box to the MCU. We are already a third of the way through the season and still don’t really have an idea as to what is happening, or who is behind anything, and Elizabeth Olsen hopes it remains that way for as long as possible.
In an interview with the Toronto Sun, Olsen acknowledges how even after the third episode of the Disney+ show “WandaVision,” we still don’t know who the villain is. “Usually when you watch these Marvel movies, you know when the villain is going to appear and you kind of know the villain before you even watch it because of the trailers or the story,” Olsen said. “But, at the end of episode three, you still don’t know what or who the villain is with our show. I would love that mystery to continue for as long as we can, until it’s revealed or whatever is revealed.”
It’s been teased before that “WandaVision” will have big repercussions for the MCU going forward, and we do know that Olsen will reprise her role as Wanda in the upcoming “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”
During the interview, Olsen also teases how the Marvel shows and movies are going to be interconnected. “Kevin [Feige]’s larger plan is that it is all informing one another. So however they are released, the worlds, the universes are completely interwoven,” Olsen added. “I believe that this is going to continue with all the other shows they’ve got planned. …. (the shows) will give the films a richer backstory. It’s going to be really interesting to see how it all comes together.”
