Warner Bros. Adds Glitter To ‘The Lego Batman Movie,’ Mariah Carey Joins Cast

Glitter Mariah CareySo far, the casting for Warner Bros.‘ "The Lego Batman Movie" has been inspired. The ensemble at the moment is led by Will Arnett as Batman, with Ralph Fiennes (Alfred the Butler), Michael Cera (Robin), Rosario Dawson (Batgirl) and Zach Galifianakis (The Joker) joining the voice roles, and each one is a pretty bang on selection. But frankly, I have no idea what to make of this latest addition.

Deadline reports that Mariah Carey will play Commissioner Gordon in the movie Gotham’s mayor in the movie. The superstar singer famously flopped with the musical big screen vehicle "Glitter," but has since proven she’s got chops, particularly with her gritty turn in Lee Daniels‘ "Precious." All that said, I can only imagine it’s going to be a seriously reinvented Gordon in this movie.

"The Lego Batman Movie" drops on February 10, 2017 but if you need a Batman fix sooner, the animated "Batman Bad Blood" hits digital on January 16, 2016 and physical formats on February 2, 2016. Watch the trailer below.
