Watch: 2 Clips & Featurette On Sound Design For 'I Origins'

I, OriginsThrough the lens of science, even the grandest of ideas surrounding our souls, the afterlife, and so much more, are brought down to Earth. Without proof or some kind of academic basis, many of the world’s oldest notions about our lives remain stuck in the realm of the unknowable, scientifically speaking. But what if a discovery came along that changed all of that? That’s the basis of Mike Cahill‘s "I Origins."

The director’s brainy followup to "Another Earth," he once again reteams with Brit Marling, to tell the story of a molecular biologist (played by Michael Pitt), whose brief affair with a beautiful young woman (Astrid Bergès-Frisbey) and his research seven years later, becomes tied together in ways he couldn’t imagine. And these two new clips from the film shine a light into the big concepts the film tackles. Meanwhile, a featurette from the Soundworks Collection dives into the sound design and approach to the movie, with lots more footage as well.

"I Origins" opens on July 18th. Watch below.
