Watch: 2 Clips & Poster From That Other Hitchcock Movie 'The Girl'

nullEven though we had our issues with it, if you're at home on the night of Saturday, October 20th, tune in to HBO at 9 p.m. for "The Girl," if only to show Toby Jones some love. Once again the excellent actor — who saw his portrayal of Truman Capote in "Infamous" outshined by Philip Seymour Hoffman's turn in "Capote" — is getting usurped. This time it's by Anthony Hopkins in the upcoming "Hitchcock," but from what we can see of Jones, he acquits himself well as Alfred Hitchcock.

In what could be viewed as a sequel to "Hitchcock," where that film takes place during the making of "Psycho," this one explores the production of his follow-up "The Birds," and in particular his not quite professional relationship with Tippi Hedren. Pushing her to the brink psychologically, Hedren endured many abuses and shook off the advances of the director. But, as we'll see, she became a star under him and even worked with him again on "Marnie." For anyone who's a fan of stories that go behind the scenes, this one looks like it'll be a nice diversion.

Take a look at the two clips from "The Girl" below along with the poster (via Kinopoisk).
