Marvel already knows “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is going to be a success, and back in January, they started development on the inevitable third movie, rehiring directors Anthony and Joe Russo for “Captain America 3.” As you might expect, with press rounds beginning for ‘The Winter Soldier,’ the sibling directors will be asked about the next installment, but anyone looking for details might be disappointed as they’re still figuring it all out.
“…we’re just in the formative stages of it right now. We just started breaking story with [writers Christopher] Markus and [Stephen] McFeely, and we’re just getting an idea of what we want to do with it,” Joe Russo told press (via Collider), adding that right now, even working on the project is a bit like putting the cart before the horse.
“…”it’s crazy working on it before the movie even comes out because you want to see what people respond to in the film … so we’re just in that phase of breaking story but waiting to see how people respond to the movie,” he explained.
So yes, let’s at least get through ‘The Winter Soldier’ before speculating about the third chapter. To that end, here are two new clips from the movie, one with Chris Evans‘ Cap in action, and another featuring a deal struck between Robert Redford‘s agency dude and Samuel L. Jackson‘s Nick Fury.
“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” arrives on April 4th. Update 3/13: Falcon featurette and new pics below.
