Watch: 2 New Featurettes & Poster Of Brad Pitt’s Savage ‘Fury’

Brad Pitt FuryIf we’ve seen American soldiers mostly act heroically in movies, David Ayers’ “Fury” is supposed to show a more barbaric side, where soldiers cross legal and moral lines. Starring Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf and more, “Fury” is set during the waning days of WWII and centers on a battle-hardened army sergeant (Pitt) who commands a Sherman tank and vows to get his five-man crew out alive on one last deadly mission behind enemy lines. One WWII veteran who consulted on the project and read the screenplay told the The New York Times that he is wary of Ayer’s film. “I don’t recall anyone having to kill a buddy. I am not looking forward to seeing it,” he admitted.

The movie is evidently so realistic that an actor accidentally stabbed a stuntman—mistaken for a dummy lying on the ground—with a bayonet (the paper doesn’t say who). The overall conditions of the film were rough as well. You’ve probably already heard reports that LaBeouf went method and butted heads with the other actors. And the ensemble cast was put through bootcamp, and former “Walking Dead” star Joe Bernthal said they were pushed by the director to behave as if “this was the last movie you were ever going to make.”

Of his damaged tanker heroes, Ayer stated, “In the end, they would hose out the blood, slap on some paint, and grab some cooks and clerks to crew up the vehicle again.”

I dunno about you, but his makes me want to see the movie even more. “Fury” co-stars Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, Jason Isaacs and Scott Eastwood. Due October 17th, the movie will make its European premiere two days later at the BFI London Film Festival. A new poster, TV spot and featurette have arrived. Check them out below.
