Watch: 3 Clips & Featurette From 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Plus New Details On Venom & Sinister Six

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Emma Stone Andrew Garfield

We may be nearly two months away from its release, but that won’t stop the marketing onslaught of “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” from coming for you. The studio has released another featurette, a couple of clips and a brand new international TV spot for your consumption.

First up is a roughly three-minute featurette focusing on Andrew Garfield’s journey to become Peter Parker with a quick look at Jamie Foxx pre-Electro transformation and some other short footage from the sequel. It includes interviews with Foxx, Garfield, Sally FIeld, producer Avi Arad, and director Marc Webb.

Next up are two new clips from the film (via JoBlo) that run about a minute apiece, one focusing on Spider-Man trying to calm Electro down only to be foiled by the NYPD, and the other featuring Peter Parker and Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy getting nice and cozy in a closet. And finally, a new international spot has rolled out that features some nice action shots—albeit narrated in German—of Electro’s rampage through New York City and Dane DeHaan in the Green Goblin suit.

Meanwhile, new details have emerged about the “Sinister Six” and “Venom” projects in development, with producers excited to explore that world and utilize the top tier talent in their stable.

“…there are all these other stories to tell: not just Spider-Man movies but the ones that we’ve announced, ‘The Sinister Six’ and ‘Venom,’ and they all come from the same place. We realized it would be really good in terms of storytelling to have a grand scheme for where and how these stories grow out of the centerpiece, which is always Spider-Man. And if all these people are talking to each other, if Drew Goddard is going to do ‘Sinister Six,’ it would be really good for him to be part of the conversation about ‘Spider-Man,’ ” Matt Tolmach explained to SFX. “And obviously Alex [Kurtzman] is the writer of Spider-Man and the person who’s going to be doing ‘Venom.’ We should all be talking so that these movies feel as though they’re of a piece, so the fans feel like there’s symmetry. It’s a crazy luxury to have all these smart writers sitting around in a room brainstorming. Our jobs remain the same in terms of having to produce and direct the movies but it’s like putting together an all-star team—why not have the best players there all the time? So that was kind of a breakthrough idea that we’re just now really tapping into.”

Something to consider for now, as you watch the TV spot, along with the three clips and featurette, below for “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” The movie opens on May 2nd.[Dane Dehaan Clip via ROS]
