Watch: 3 Deleted Scenes From 'The Place Beyond The Pines' Starring Ryan Gosling

The Place Beyond The Pines Ryan Gosling Eva MendesA sprawling American saga, set in upstate New York and chronicling the intersecting lives of fathers, sons and legacy of sins, Derek Cianfrance‘s "The Place Beyond The Pines" is nothing if not ambitious. But that it’s one of the year’s best dramas so far, speaks to his command of the epic script he co-wrote, one that feels both deeply personal and highly resonant all at once. If you missed the movie, it arrives on home video this week, so perhaps you’ll want to watch the flick first, but for the rest of you, some deleted scenes from the picture have made their way online.

There is nothing particularly revelatory here, and it’s easy to see why Cianfrance snipped out these moments in a film that already stretches to two hours and twenty minutes. In the first, we see Ryan Gosling‘s Luke confront Romina (Eva Mendes), the woman he casually sees, upon finding out from her mother that he’s fathered her child. The next sequence, which is sure to get the ladies excited, features Luke headed to prison and being forced to strip down for the guards. Lastly, a more playful scene finds Luke negotiating with Robin (Ben Mendelsohn), his partner in crime, as to the split for the bank heists.

For fans of the film, they’re all worth a look. "The Place Beyond The Pines" hits DVD and Blu-ray on August 6th. Watch below. [ET Movies/Total Film/Guardian]
