In case you missed the latest Marvel news, “Doctor Strange” has started production. The official logline says the movie “follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions” which sounds about right. The usual suspect cast was all named and confirmed, as was Rachel McAdam and Mads Mikkelsen, the latter of whom was playing a bit coy about it all earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Marvel’s “Ant-Man” has hit Blu-Ray after earning $518 million worldwide at the box office. It’s the fourth lowest grossing Marvel movie, but still, it’s the 10th highest grossing film of 2015 worldwide, $500 million is nothing to sneeze at for a third-tier character, and Marvel is surely going to make a mint on home video.
And a sequel has already been green lit: “Ant-Man And The Wasp” is set for summer 2016 and it’ll give Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne character a chance to finally suit up and join in the action. Peyton Reed will be back in the director’s chair and as for the rest of the cast and players? Writer/director Adam McKay suggested he’d be open to returning as a writer if time allows (he’s already working on a few secret Marvel projects it seems) and Michael Douglas recently said his return as the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym is looking good.
So now that “Ant-Man” has hit Blu-Ray, Marvel and Disney have been releasing a handful of featurettes and deleted scenes. We’ve rounded ’em up for you below.
