It has been nine years since Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s "Sin City," and "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" looks to be bringing more sex, more violence and above all more of a noir aesthetic common to the first film. The good news is that Rodriguez really hopes that if another sequel is green-lit, it will come along much more quickly.
"When Frank [Miller, the writer/artist/creator of the graphic novels upon which the films are based] came out of the screening room for this one, he sits down and says, ‘So when we do Part 3 …’ He’s already talking about which books we’re going to use, he’d already structured it in his head," Rodriguez told Hero Complex. "I said, ‘We have to go do it right away. We shouldn’t wait.’ If we do a third one, I think we’ll do it sooner rather than later."
Okay, so nothing’s concrete yet —and it’ll likely depend on how this movie does at the box office— but until then, you can see if ‘Dame’ has all the right stuff with the below three new clips. The first couple from IMDB and MTV dig into the grit, as does a sequence from Rotten Tomatoes. And oh yeah, up top you’ll see the first look at Lady Gaga in the movie — yes, she’s in the film. Following "Machete Kills," she seems to be part of the Rodriguez roster. Huh.
"Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" opens on August 22nd. Watch below.
