Watch: 30 Minute Interview, 'Today' Special & Clip From 'Boyhood' Plus Richard Linklater Talks 'Limpet' & 'Dazed'

BoyhoodYou gotta hand it to IFC Films. Generally speaking, the promotional efforts from the distributor are modestly matched with the art house and indie fare they tend to specialize in, but they are certainly going big for "Boyhood." We can’t remember the last time an IFC Films project got airtime on "Today," but this morning it happened.

Yep, the epic, coming-of-age drama got pulled out in front of the nation on network TV, and in case you missed it, you can watch below. Meanwhile, stars Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette talked for 30 minutes about the project with David Poland, and a clip from the film has arrived taking us back to when Hawke and the kids in the film were much, much younger.

If that’s not all, Rope Of Silicon recently chatted with the filmmaker and he provided a couple of updates on some projects that, unsurprisingly, still aren’t moving along. First up, is the much talked about "Dazed & Confused" follow-up, which as you might guess, is still not ready to happen.

"…that’s actually a ‘Dazed and Confused’ sequel and a ‘Boyhood’ sequel. How’s that? It’s actually an interesting sequel to both films, but it wouldn’t have any of the same actors. But, a spiritual sequel," he explained. "It’s different aspects of yourself. The college movie, it will be a little more of the jock side of me whereas Ellar [Coltrane, from ‘Boyhood’] is more the writer/artist side of me."

Meanwhile, as for long developing remake of "The Incredible Mr. Limpet"? "Yeah, I don’t think that’s happening… You know, studios, eh, they’re so full of shit, you know, it’s just, nothing, nothing…" he stated.

But "Boyhood" is something and it’s coming on July 18th. Watch the interviews and more below.
