Watch: 4 Clips & Ton Of New Pics From Angelina Jolie's 'In The Land Of Blood And Honey'

Filmmakers Sued By Croation Journalist Who Claims His Book Inspired The Film

nullA love that dare not speak its name, just one of the most horrific wars in recent memory, for Angelina Jolie's directorial debut, she isn't taking the easy way out. "In the Land of Blood and Honey" is making its way to theaters and four clips and a plethora of images from the film have arrived to give you a taste of what Jolie has delivered from her first time behind the camera.

Starring Zana Marjanović (”Snow”), Rade Šerbedžija (”Snatch”) and Goran Kostic (”Taken”), the film is a romantic drama about the troubled relationship between a Muslim woman and a Serbian man in the midst of the Bosnian war. These four clips are united in the fatigue, stress and strain the war is having on both the aggressors and the victims of the battle, all set against a bleak wintry landscape. But as you might imagine, the film is not without controversy. During filming Jolie was the target of concerns from groups in the area about the depicition of the war and their people, and now the actress/director is being hit with a lawsuit.

Croatian journalist James Braddock is suing Jolie and the filmmakers for copyright infrigement of his 2007 book "The Soul Shattering," which also features a storyline about a Serbian camp commander who falls in love with a Muslim woman. The added twist here is that Braddock and 'Blood and Honey' producer Edin Sarkic apparently spent two years discussing a film adapation of his book only for Jolie's project to suddenly appear. In addition to damages, Braddock is also suing to prevent the film's release, a common tactic which essentially never works. As for everything else, the case is yet to play out in court.

"In the Land of Blood and Honey" will roll into theaters on December 23rd. Check out the clips and pics below. [ComingSoon/THR]
