Director Richard Linklater has done it all, and these two videos are proof of the diversity of projects the filmmaker has tackled over the course of his career.
First up, is a vintage 40-minute Searchlab Lecture that comes circa the release of "Waking Life." The animated film melded philosophy, the meaning of life, and much more in a freeform package that defied most conventions of traditional film structure. And those are topics Linklater gets into in the talk, discussing the purpose of narrative, indie film versus Hollywood movies and more. And next, is a quick featurette on his ambitious "Boyhood," shot over a dozen years, and giving an impressionistic look at the coming-of-age of one young boy.
Both are pretty great, so give them a spin below. "Boyhood" opens on July 11th.
