While one kind of movie lover will be sad at the end of awards season this weekend, another kind will be happy that we’re that much closer to the beginning of the summer blockbuster season. One of the biggest tentpoles headed our way later this year will surely be Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War.” Though we’re still a few months out from that film’s release, the folks over at MCUExchange have created a cool recap of the extended Marvel cinematic universe to date that shows the stakes of the upcoming superhero extravaganza.

Running just over five minutes, the supercut includes not only the big-screen offerings of the Avengers, but also some clips from the ABC show “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” that set up the main dilemma at the heart of ‘Civil War’: Should the superheroes in the MCU submit to the authority of the government, or should they maintain their autonomy? For this writer at least, this fan-made supercut does a better job than the previously released trailers of setting the table for the Tony Stark vs. Steve Rogers fight in a way that makes sense for both the large Marvel franchise and the history of these two characters.
