Watch: 50-Minute Documentary 'In The Mood For Doyle' About Cinematographer Christopher Doyle

nullAs we learned about a week ago when he thoroughly trashed both Ang Lee‘s “Life Of Pi” and Steven Spielberg‘s “Lincoln,” Christopher Doyle doesn’t hold back. He’s an open book, warts and all, and when he sits down to chat, he’ll answer your questions. And the celebrated cinematographer has more than once let cameras follow him around. If you liked the very brief BBC documentary we brought to your attention at the end of last year, here’s a bigger serving of Doyle.

In The Mood For Doyle,” a 2007 documentary on the man, has made its way online, and it’s another interesting glimpse at the filmmaker. Made around the time he was shooting M. Night Shyamalan‘s “Lady In The Water,” the 50-minute movie features of a wealth of interviews with big names in film including Wong Kar-Wai, Olivier Assayas, Gus Van Sant, Fruit Chan and more, while, of course, Doyle himself shares his thoughts as well. The project was made for Arte TV in France, but thanks to the magic of the interwebs, you can give it a look below. [Cinephilia & Beyond]
