Comic-Con, as you probably already know, is underway this weekend, and the abundance of teases, treats and hyperbole coming out of San Diego may render it hard to keep up. But what’s easy for anyone to grasp is the fact that every other studio at the Con is playing catch-up to Marvel, the undisputed king of teases, treats and hyperbole. The comic company/studio has demonstrated its domination of the multiplex, and is now expanding its increasingly imitated world-building techniques into television. This allows the studio to introduce more characters from the comics into what may yet have to be re-dubbed "the Marvel Cinematic/Televised Universe," and season two of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." looks to do just that.
A new teaser screened at Ballroom 20 yesterday, featuring remarks from Patton Oswalt in character as the program’s Agent Koenig. And after a mostly unfunny chat about security badges and whatnot, Oswald/Koenig revealed that Barbara Morse, aka Mockingbird, aka Agent 19, will be introduced in season 2. Morse/Mockingbird is best known in Marvel Comics continuity as the super heroic spouse of archer nonpareil Hawkeye.
So until ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ returns on September 23rd, here’s the season 2 teaser, a blooper reel from season 1 and the full "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." panel from San Diego. [EW/EW]
