Watch: Another Trailer Arrives For Sylvester Stallone/Walter Hill Team-Up 'Bullet In The Head'

nullJust as worried filmgoers hesitantly stepped into “The Grey” this past January with fears of “Taken” with wolves, only then for the film to exceed all expectations as one of the most pleasant surprises of the year, we can only hope something similar will befall Sylvester Stallone’s latest actioner “Bullet to the Head.” With each look at the Walter Hill-directed film thus far wafting a perfectly generic tone of DTV fare, the prospect seems unlikely, but now a third trailer has been released to try and endear audiences to the newest from the "48 Hrs" helmer.

The trailer follows on from the announcement that 'Bullet' will feature its world premiere at the Rome Film Festival next month, as Hill also receives a Maverick Director award to commemorate his impressive career. Unfortunately, his latest adaptation (based off Alexis Nolent’s French graphic novel) may not operate as the best example of such, as the thin narrative — concerning Stallone’s hitman character who teams up with a cop (Sung Kang) to battle the man (Jason Momoa) that betrayed him and kidnapped his daughter – seems to be a bland genre exercise at best, a successor to "Cradle 2 The Grave" or "Exit Wounds," rather than "The Driver" or "The Warriors."

The film co-stars Sarah Shahi, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Holt McCallany, while Christian Slater pops up as well, but seemingly only for the trailer, unless the marketing's misleading. So yeah, it hardly looks like the best work of anybody involved, but with any luck Hill completists or those looking for a mindless action romp will have a good time when “Bullet to the Head” opens February 1st, 2013.
