Getting married is one thing, but you have to get to the altar first, and it's that journey that serves as the center of yet another winning Judd Apatow production, in Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller's "The Five-Year Engagement." The film opened the Tribeca Film Festival a couple of days ago and hits theaters next week, and as we noted in our review, the film is "sweet and touching" and hits all the right comic notes you can expect.
A new red band trailer has emerged, and while there are no boobs (sorry dudes), the spot gives a look at the extensive supporting cast (including Apatow players like Kevin Hart and Gerry Bednob) as well as giving a broader overview of the story beats and some of the f-bombs they couldn't put in the regular green band trailer. In case you're catching up, the story focuses on a young couple (Segel and Emily Blunt) who get engaged but put things on hold so the fiancée can keep following her career, putting a strain on the relationship. As is usual, this spot delivers some choice gags, so if you want to keep it fresh for when you see it theaters, you might be advised to hold off on watching this. But overall, it's a solid trailer that for those of us have yet to catch up with the movie, stokes the anticipation just a little more.
"The Five-Year Engagment" will open on April 27th. Watch below.
