Well, we’ll give co-writer/director Dan Fogler credit for this: he certainly knows how to work a Rolodex. Ordinarily, we probably wouldn’t pay a movie titled “Don Peyote” much mind, but when it manages to rope in a rather oddball assortment of people for cameo roles, well, we gave more time out of day than we otherwise would have.
The trailer for the low-budget comedy is here and the appearances by faces more famous than Fogler’s are more memorable than anything else, as we’re still not sure what it’s about. Variety says it’s about “an unemployed stoner who finally finds a purpose in life after an unpleasant encounter with a homeless man preaching the end is near. Fueled by vivid apocalyptic dreams, he becomes obsessed with doomsday theories and decides to make a documentary on the subject while his fiance is busy planning their wedding.” Okay, but we’re still left figuring about how they managed to get both Anne Hathaway and Abel Ferrara in the same movie. Kudos.
Co-starring Josh Duhamel and Jay Baruchel, with appearances by Topher Grace, Wallace Shawn and more, if you’re curious to see this entire movie, you can do so when it opens in May. Watch below.
