Watch: Christian Bale & Joel Edgerton Go To War In New Clip From Ridley Scott's 'Exodus: Gods And Kings'

ExodusWith many of the remaining hot prospects of 2014, from "The Hunger Games" to "Selma," being unveiled this week, there are only a few question marks left. Perhaps the biggest is "Exodus: Gods And Kings," Ridley Scott’s megabudget retelling of the story of Moses, the first big-screen version of the Biblical tale since "The Ten Commandments."

Early buzz was plagued by controversy over the casting, with the distinctly caucasian Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton leading the show as Moses and Ramses respectively. But Fox have been bullish on the project, showing extended footage to the press in advance, and recent trailers and footage have suggested that, whitewashing aside, this might be Scott in "Gladiator" rather than "Robin Hood" mode.

That continues with the latest clip, which sees Bale and Edgerton, still brothers in arms, preparing for war, and it demonstrates an impressive level of scale and scope even in the sixty seconds or so we get. Edgerton in particular looks to be giving a regally impressive performance, despite the fake tan and gold get-up. Could the film turn out to be the secret weapon of the holiday season? Or will it be another misfire from the veteran director? We’ll know soon enough: the movie opens on December 12th. Watch the clip below.
