While we’re curious to see what Martin Scorsese delivers in his upcoming 3D family movie “Hugo” we have to say we are much more excited for his other project, the long-in-the-works documentary “George Harrison: Living In The Material World.”
The project is a massive undertaking, boasting interviews from friends, colleagues and collaborators including Eric Clapton, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, George Martin, Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono, Tom Petty, Phil Spector, Ringo Starr and Jackie Stewart, with the roughly three-and-a-half hour documentary (yes, this be epic) digging deep into Harrison’s life and career from The Beatles through to his years as a solo artist, his work as a film producer, a philanthropist and more. This clip found by the folks over at C7nema is a very brief look at the film, dipping its toes into the wave of Beatlemania that first launched the spindly musician into superstardom.
“Living In The Material World” will unspool at the New York Film Festival and hits HBO shortly thereafter in a two-part presentation on October 5th and 6th. Watch the clip below.
