Have you been staying up nights, stricken by anxiety at the seeming lack of continuity between “The Incredible Hulk” and “Iron Man 2“? Did Tony Stark’s cameo leave you with more questions than answers? Well prepare to finally get a full night’s rest as on September 13th, all those nagging concerns will be alleviated.
As has been rumored for a while, Marvel is now pushing forth on a series of shorts, each being made to provide a bridge in their ever expanding universe of films. First up in the “Marvel One-Shot” series will be “The Consultant,” centering on Clark Gregg‘s Agent Coulson and featured on the upcoming “Thor” home video release. The short will fill out some of the missing details around Robert Downey Jr.‘s appearance in “The Incredible Hulk,” though why we need this three years after it happened is anybody’s guess. Eric Pearson penned the script and commercial filmmaking team Leythum directed the spot with a score, somewhat randomly, contributed by famed DJ Paul Oakenfold.
The next planned Marvel short will be “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer” designed to connect the dots between “Iron Man 2” and “Thor” with the same creative team behind the camera. No word yet on when or how that one will be released, but if we took a guess, probably on the “Captain America: The First Avenger” DVD/BluRay. Anyway, please your inner geek and watch the clip below.
