Yes, we're still playing a bit of catch-up with the deluge of geekery that landed over the past few days at Comic-Con, but we're nearly there. While Marvel got the most press for the unveiling of logos and titles, as well as the confirmation of Ben Kingsley as Mandarin in "Iron Man 3," the company also dropped a pretty decent helping of "Item 47," the upcoming One Shot short set to appear on the "The Avengers" DVD and Blu-ray this fall.
A minute long clip has hit the interwebs, giving fans a peek at the twelve minute movie, the longest short film Marvel has put together to date. The story centers on a down-on-their-luck couple (Lizzy Caplan and Jesse Bradford) who stumble across the alien guns left behind in the aftermath of "The Avengers," and decide to do some bad things. S.H.I.E.L.D. agents (Maximiliano Hernández and Titus Welliver) are tasked with tracking down Benny and Claire before they do more damage, and this scene shows the Caplan/Bradford duo getting set to commit some kind of crime.
Well, it's not high art or cinema, it looks like it was made on a stringiest of shoestring budgets, the direction is pretty pedestrian and the dialogue ain't so hot….maybe the rest is better? Guess we can't complain too much because it's a freebie short. Anyway, watch below. [via I Am Rogue]
