New York City in the early 1900s was dirty, filthy… a place of innovation, and one of danger, where everyone strived to make the most in a city teeming with opportunity. But whether you were rich or poor, everybody was the same when you went under the knife at Knickerbocker Hospital. And that’s where the action is centered in “The Knick,” Steven Soderbergh‘s ten-part miniseries for Cinemax.
Led by Clive Owen, the show follows the surgeons, nurses and staff who work at the hospital—without the techniques of modern medicine available at their disposal—and as the promos have been hinting so far, things get bloody. But tonight we get the first substantial footage from the new show with this latest promo centered on Clive Owen’s Dr. John W. Thackery. Needless to say, this is one we’re really looking forward to, and with Cliff Martinez powering the score, we’re eager to see Soderbergh’s spin on the medical drama.
“The Knick” will air this summer. Watch below.
