Watch: Dakota Fanning & Jesse Eisenberg Are The Revolution In First Trailer For Kelly Reichardt's 'Night Moves'

Jesse Eisenberg, Dakota Fanning and Peter Sarsgaard in "Night Moves"

Deliberate and the measured, the oeuvre of Kelly Reichardt—which has included films “Old Joy,” “Wendy & Lucy” and “Meek’s Crossing“—isn’t for everyone. That said, she’s been able to attract some pretty terrific talent for her films, with Michelle Williams making two movies with the director. Her next project, “Night Moves,” she rounds up Jesse Eisenberg, Dakota Fanning and Peter Sarsgaard for a tale with a more provocative punch.

One of the 21 Best Films Of 2014 We’ve Already Seen, the film follows three people who come together to bomb a hydroelectric dam, and follows them as they plan their subversive action. The result is a movie that we called in our review “a crackling little suspense thriller/morality play indebted to Dostoyevsky and Hitchcock.” For Sarsgaard, working on the movie allowed him to take a closer look at the world defines and deals with terrorism.

“I actually really dislike the term ‘eco-terrorism,’ ” the actor told ET Movies. “We could apply it to everything. That person would be like a terrorism cocktail. It’s a difficult term. Terrorism is a term used by the people being terrorized… There are these laws invented after 9/11 that were meant to apply to terrorists… if you committed an act of violence, even if people weren’t killed, these laws would be applied to you.”

So “Night Moves” will certainly get you thinking. It will screen at the Tribeca Film Festival and opens on May 30th. Watch the trailer and ET interview below.
