Watch: Daniel Radcliffe Stars In One-Take Music Video For British Band Slow Club

nullWe're increasingly impressed by Daniel Radcliffe. It's not the easiest thing to escape from the shadow of a huge franchise but, while he's likely to be followed by jokes about quidditch for the rest of his life, the young actor has made a pretty good job of breaking out of Harry Potter, impressing in diverse stage roles in "Equus" and "How To Succeed In Business…" (and recently signing on to Martin McDonagh's "The Cripple of Inishmaan" in the West End), having a legitimate sleeper hit with "The Woman In Black," and joining an impressive cast to play Allan Ginsberg in "Kill Your Darlings."

And he's managed to be genuinely charming in interviews too, suggesting that his star should last long past the Potter films being in the rear-view mirror. The actor's currently filming a British miniseries, playing the younger version of Jon Hamm, but at some point he found a spare afternoon to star in an impressive one-take video for one of his favorite bands. Radcliffe is a professed fanboy for excellent British indie group Slow Club (interviewing them when he guest-edited an issue of Time Out London), and takes center stage in the promo for their new single "Beginners."

Donning a Hawaiian shirt that makes him look like a Pixar employee, Radcliffe plays a barfly stumbling around a North London pub miming to the band's song. It's not going to break any new ground or anything, but director Lucy Needs handles the one take neatly, and Radcliffe gets to show a little more range, and does a good job of it too. Watch the clip below, and we'd certainly recommend checking out the band's most recent album, "Paradise," if you like what you hear. [The Guardian]
