Watch: First 2 Clips From Richard Linklater's 'Boyhood' Hides And Looks At Boobs

Boyhood

“I kind of saw it as a memory film,” director Richard Linklater told us in Berlin earlier this year about his upcoming “Boyhood.” “I mean, it’s very contemporary to the moment but I wanted at the end of the day for it to feel like a childhood memory of what life was like. Which is hard to do, when you’re always in the present moment, especially when you’re shooting this way. By definition it’s very linear, very present.” However, by most accounts—including our review out of Sundance—Linklater captured that nostalgic feeling dead on.

Featuring Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette, but centered around newcomer Ellar Coltrane, “Boyhood” follows the life of a young child from ages six through eighteen, with Linklater shooting the movie across the span of twelve years, assembling his cast and crew every year for a few days to shoot scenes. The result is a picture that allows you see the actors and characters age right before your very eyes. But these first two clips focus on the younger years, with a Sears catalog providing uh, titillation, along with another moment of playful times with the family.

“Boyhood” arrives on July 11th. Watch below and check out the trailer here.
