"That was one of my best experiences," Marion Cotillard tells the LA Times plainly about working with Luc and Pierre Dardenne on their upcoming "Two Days, One Night." "They offered me everything I had always wanted in a relationship between an actress and a director — well, two directors in that case. They work a lot, and I love to work a lot. Their level of demand is the highest I’ve ever encountered in my career, and that’s what I’m looking for. They pushed me as far as I could go and maybe beyond. I would have done anything they asked me."
And that work will shortly be on evidence at the Cannes Film Festival where the movie will once again find the filmmakers in Competition. This time around, the duo tell a story that centers on a young woman who has only one weekend to convince her colleagues they must give up their bonuses in order for her to keep her job. Olivier Gourmet—who has previously worked the Dardennes on "The Son," "The Kid With A Bike," "L’Enfant," "Lorna’s Silence" and "Rosetta—stars opposite Cotillard in this one. And this first clip highlights what looks like a tough drama, even without handy subs.
