Huh. The last time we heard about a sequel to Bong Joon-ho's cult fave "The Host," it was still in the works. Indeed, even IMDB seems to think the movie is still in development, but apparently not only has it shot, but the first attention grabbing clip has landed online.
First things first, Bong Joon-ho is not back to direct — "I like films that are new stories [so] I don't think I'm interested in making remakes or sequels…" he told us in 2010 — but we have to admit, this is much better than what we were expecting. Truly suspenseful and with some solid visual effects, it's a pretty exciting sequence that perhaps suggests this followup will do more than just ride on the success of the first one. And stay tuned once it's over for a breakdown of how it was all put togther.
