Watch: First Clip & TV Spots For 'A Young Doctor's Notebook' Starring Jon Hamm & Daniel Radcliffe

nullComing soon to a television screen near you (well, if you live in the UK that is – otherwise it’s coming soon to an illegal internet stream) is a fascinating looking project from Sky Arts, notable primarily because of its two stars. Jon Hamm and Daniel Radcliffe are teaming up to play younger and older versions of the same person in the miniseries, “A Young Doctor’s Notebook,” and the first clip from the show has surfaced online alongside a batch of short promos.

The twist in the miniseries is that the two versions of the titular Doctor are able to interact, and in this clip Hamm and Radcliffe are conversing about the latter’s qualms about treating a strangulated hernia. Hamm’s playing the straight man in this clip, while Radcliffe is again showing off the comedy chops that we’ve been dying to see again ever since “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.”

The four-part miniseries is based on the short stories of the Russian playwright Mikhail Bulgakov and looks fairly promising from what we’ve seen so far. “Bleakly comic” are the buzzwords being used to describe the show, and this clip seems to show off that angle effectively. The series bows on December 6th over in the UK, and the DVD release should follow not to long after that. Hopefully there will be a legal means for North American viewers to get their hands on the series before long too. [Mugglenet/The Leaky Cauldron]
