Joachim Trier is one of our favorite directors, but his films are often hard to classify and don’t sound like much on the page. "Reprise" tracked the friendship between two young men, and "Oslo August 31" chronicled a single day in the life of a troubled man —both are much more layered and complex than you might expect. While we wait for the stateside bow for the film, the first international teaser trailer has landed.

Jesse Eisenberg, Isabelle Huppert, Gabriel Byrne and Amy Ryan star in a drama following the children and husband of a deceased war photographer who sift through her work for an upcoming retrospective. Here’s the official synopsis:
An upcoming exhibition celebrating photographer Isabelle Reed three years after her untimely death, brings her eldest son Jonah back to the family house – forcing him to spend more time with his father Gene and withdrawn younger brother Conrad than he has in years. With the three of them under the same roof, Gene tries desperately to connect with his two sons, but they struggle to reconcile their feelings about the woman they remember so differently.
"Louder Than Bombs" will be released by The Orchard in the U.S., but no date has been set. The picture opens in Norway on October 2nd. [Slashfilm]
