Watch: First Trailer For Amy Winehouse Documentary 'Amy' From 'Senna' Director Asif Kapadia

Amy Winehouse Back To BlackThis spring and summer, music documentaries about icons of pop, rock and soul are coming fast and hard. This weekend on HBO, Alex Gibney will unveil his four-hour "Sinatra: All Or Nothing At All." In May, the network will bring "Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck" to TV screens and movie theaters, and at the height of blockbuster season will come "Amy," about the late Amy Winehouse. And the first trailer is here.

"Senna" director Asif Kapadia is behind the camera for this one, which tracks the all-too-brief life of the soul singer who died at the age of twenty-seven. Winehouse rose to worldwide fame, but her accomplishments as an artist were often overshadowed by her battles with alcohol and drugs, personal relationships that spilled out into the tabloids, and more. Sadly, she could never overcome her battle with the bottle, but even with only two albums to her name, her legacy is one that will certainly endure.

"Amy" opens this summer via A24. Watch below.
