“The big thing for us is about awareness of what an A.C.O.D. is,” director Stu Zicherman recently told EW. “There’s a lot of debate about [keeping] the title.” Well, keep they did and now comes the part of the campaign to let you know what it’s all about. And that’s just what the first trailer for “A.C.O.D.” does, bringing together a whole bunch solid comedic talents for a tale about the effects splitting up… on everyone else…
In case you haven’t figured it out, the acronym stands for Adult Children Of Divorce, and that’s exactly what lead character Carter (Adam Scott) finds himself as, continually mediating between his constantly bickering, separated parents played by Catherine O’Hara and Richard Jenkins. And when his brother (Clark Duke) gets engaged, Carter visits play Dr. Judith, an author and therapist who used to treat him, only to be met with more surprises. We missed this one up in Park City earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival, but word from many was that it was treat, so we’ll mark this on our calendar.
Co-starring a pretty solid roster of talent including Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Amy Poehler and Jessica Alba, “A.C.O.D.” hits theaters on October 4th.
