Watch: First Trailer For Luc Besson’s ‘The Transporter Refueled’ Starring Ed Skrein, Ray Stevenson & More

Transporter LegacyThe Luc Besson action thriller cottage industry (aka Besson’s EuropaCorp) just keeps churning ‘em out. What’s that? Jason Statham is done with the “Transporter” series and doesn’t want to star in them anymore? No matter, Besson and his co-writer Robert Mark Kamen (who also co-wrote and co-conceived of Besson’s “Taken” franchise) just decided to reboot the whole thing and start over ala “Spider-Man” only six years after “The Transporter 3.” This time Frank Martin, the former Special Forces operative and reluctant hero of the original series is played by English rapper The Dinnerlady P.I.M.P, and actor Ed Skrein. Who? Well, American audiences will know him from “Game Of Thrones.”

Skrien played Daario Naharis in the third season of “Game of Thrones,” the warrior who also occasionally beds Daenerys Targaryen. But Skrien didn’t get to play the character that far. After season three he abandoned the role when he was offered the lead in “The Transporter Legacy,” and here we are.

The film also co-stars Ray Stevenson, Gabriella Wright, Radivoje Bukvic, Anatole Taubman and Tatiana Pajkovic. ‘Legacy’ follows Frank as a young mercenary as he teams up with a group of assailants to take down a group of Russian human traffickers. Directed by another Besson protégé (and there are many) Camille Delamarre (EuropaCorp’s “Brick Mansions”), and written by Bill Collage and Adam Cooper (“Accepted”), “Transporter Legacy” arrives in U.S. theaters on June 19th.
