We’ve seen where the "Star Wars" saga goes next with J.J. Abrams‘ "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," and now, we’re going to get the missing chapter of the story we thought we knew so well. Directed by Gareth Edwards ("Monsters," "Godzilla"), and featuring an outstanding cast of Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk (in an under wraps mo-cap turn), and Riz Ahmed, the ensemble will help tell the story of the events that happen before ‘A New Hope,’ chronicling the rebels’ escapade in stealing the plans for the Death Star that would prove to be so fateful. I dunno about you, I’m pretty stoked just to see Mendelsohn and Mikkelsen in the same movie.
But there’s even more talent to be found with DP Greig Fraser ("Foxcatcher," "Zero Dark Thirty," "Let Me In," "Bright Star") lensing the picture, and a score from Alexandre Desplat ("Birth," "The King’s Speech," "Argo," "The Grand Budapest Hotel").
So strap in and watch the first trailer below. "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" opens on December 16th.
