Watch: First Trailer For Samuel L. Jackson Action Comedy/Parody 'Big Game'

Big GameFilmmaker Jalmari Helander ("Rare Exports") certainly aims high with this action comedy/parody flick "Big Game." He manages to get some decent actors on board including Samuel L. Jackson, Jim Broadbent, Ray Stevenson and Felicity Huffman, and he tries to create a concoction that’s something like Cannon Films meets Steven Spielberg. And while the result may sound awesome, it’s actually not as great as you might think, and you can see how clunky it is in the the first trailer for the movie.

The premise is actually pretty outlandish: when the President Of The United States is targeted by kidnappers and Air Force One is shot out of the sky, he must rely on the help of a 13-year-old boy to help him survive the brutal landscape of the Finnish mountains. As you’ll see, everything is delivered firmly tongue-in-cheek, but as I wrote in my review out of TIFF, the movie "isn’t as witty as it thinks it is, rarely transcends the very movies it wants to knock and its intentionally hamfisted approach isn’t particularly endearing."

No U.S. release date yet for "Big Game," but check out the new trailer below. [Film Divider]
