Watch: First Trailer & Lots Of New Images For 'Dom Hemingway' Starring Jude Law

There were few films at TIFF this year as brazenly filthy and outrageous as “Dom Hemingway,” and certainly fewer as enjoyable. And while release date schedules dictate that the movie still won’t arrive stateside until next year, overseas, audiences will be the first to dive into the fun, and a new trailer is here to highlight what’s in store. But don’t make any quick judgments on the movie based on this trailer which doesn’t really do the tone of “Dom Hemingway” justice.

Written and directed by Richard Shepherd, the man behind “The Matador,” Jude Law stars as the titular Dom, a man just released from a long stint in prison, doing time on behalf of his former boss Mr. Fontaine (Demian Bichir). He’s eager to get what he’s owed for keeping his mouth shut, but that’s just the start of a journey that sees the volatile, boozy, sex-crazed Dom crossing paths with a femme fatale (Madalina Diana Ghenea) and forced to reconcile with this past, including a daughter he hasn’t seen in years (Emilia Clarke). But along with him every step of the way is Dickie (Richard E. Grant), his longtime associate and voice of reason.

Out of TIFF we called this one “frequently laugh-out-loud funny and impressively, wittily written, with a finely tuned ear for the perfect bit of foul language,” and even more, there is a character who you actually get invested in as the second half of the movie kicks into gear. “Dom Hemingway” opens in the U.K. on November 15th and on April 4, 2014 in the U.S. Watch below.
